| Chalcosoma caucasus:Thailand,Malaysia,Sumatra,Jawa Max:13.4cm
Chalcosoma Atlas:Southeast Asia Max:11cm
Chalcosoma Moellenkampi:Sabah and Sarawak Max:12cm
Males of this genus are the largest rhinoceros beetles in asia.Females will lay eggs in normal decayed wood flakes or organic soil.Larva need a high protein diet during L1 and L2 stage in order to become major males.L1 duration is 1 month,L2 1 ad a half months, L3 6 to 10 months for females and 8 to 12 months for males. For chalcosoma caucasus, males need at least 80 grams to become major while C. atlas needs to be at least 50g.The larvae are extremely aggresive and cannibalistic so be careful when handling the larvae to prevent it from biting itself or you yourself getting bitten and it is recommended to keep them in individual containers.A decayed log can be added into the substrate for male L3 larvae.
A temperature renging between 20c to 25c is recommended for C.C. and C.M. C.A. can withstand temps up to 30c but is not recommended if u want to get large imagoes
